Libby O’Malley is a seasoned nonprofit/association management executive and content creator with over two decades of experience. Her journey began on the waters of coastal North Carolina, where she fell in love with sailing as a teenager. This passion for the sea is a constant thread throughout her life, guiding her from coast to coast – from San Diego Bay to Morehead City on Bogue Sound, where she currently resides.

Libby has led organizations across various industries, from architecture to marine sciences, bringing strategic vision, financial acumen, and exemplary communication skills to each role. The American Institute of Architects. UNC Chapel Hill’s Institute of Marine Sciences. The Arthritis Foundation. Beaufort’s Maritime Heritage Foundation. The City of Virginia Beach. The US Navy. These are just a few of the organizations, governments, and agencies Libby has supported in leadership roles. She excels in high-pressure environments, leading teams both in person and remotely (long before virtual work became the norm). As the President and Owner of In Association With, LLC, Libby has provided comprehensive management and consulting services to nonprofits and associations, focusing on fundraising, grant management, board governance, and member communications.

A creative and energetic team player, Libby is known for her ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. Her background in rhetoric and communications, combined with her extensive experience in writing and editing, has equipped Libby to handle a wide range of content creation tasks, from grant writing and sponsorship proposals to event announcements and nonstop marketing collateral.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Libby is deeply committed to community involvement. She enjoys sailing, golfing, and volunteering in her spare time, and she is a proud foster/adopt mom to her daughter, Morgan. Whether navigating the waters of Bogue Sound or the complex landscape of nonprofit management, Libby brings passion, precision, and a love for storytelling to everything she does.
