Tracie qualified as a Person-Centred Counsellor in 2002, gaining her British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapist’s Accreditation in 2007.
In 2002, with her business partner Sarah they established Tamworth Counselling Services Ltd, a private company securing contracts within Local Education Authorities to implement counselling services within the Pupil Referral Units (PRU’s) within several authorities, working with young people with Emotional & Behavioural Issues. TCS Ltd then expanded to Residential Units for EBD disorders. TCS Ltd also provides room-based sessions, Eagala sessions, bespoke training, critical incident management & employee assisted programmes.
It was during her work with the young people within the secure unit that Tracie realised that one size does not fit all and through her own experience of horses from a young age and still having horses’, that she explored the possibilities of combining her professional and personal passions.
In 2004 Tracie & Sarah travelled to Belgium and trained in the Eagala model, since then they have implemented and serviced children, young people, adults, couples, families, corporate and professional development programmes.
Tracie co-founded and manages a Community Interest Company (cic) in 2006, offering a free counselling service, either room based or Eagala session for the local community. She has never believed that gaining access to a professional service should have any financial burden. Since opening CHOICES cic has serviced 1000’s of people of all ages and issues. People can self-refer, or referrals are accepted from GP’s, Schools, Social Workers, Police, NHS, Department of Work & Pensions, Local Support team and other agencies and organisations. CHOICES cic has a team of 15 counsellors, with a variety of experience and specialisms.
In 2008 Tracie was privileged to join Eagala’s trainers’ team, sharing her passion and belief in the model around the world.
Tracie has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in working with children, young people and adults with issues such as anger, low self-esteem, communication, relationships, loss/bereavement, self-harm, sexual disorders, gender identity, OCD, ADHD, ODD, autism, anxiety, low moods, behavioural and more.
