Since retiring in 2007 from her role as a school department chair and counselor in Maryland, Ann O’Brien has dedicated herself to Eagala Model work with deep passion and purpose. As an Advanced Certified Mental Health Professional, Equine Specialist, and Eagala Mentor, Ann brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, educational leadership, and heartfelt commitment to every aspect of her work. Currently, she co-leads a sixteen-week intensive program for veterans with traumatic brain injury and PTSD.

Ann has long been drawn to mentoring, offering support and encouragement to fellow professionals who are eager to grow in their Eagala practice. Her mentoring is enriched by extensive experience across a wide spectrum of populations and settings—including child advocacy programs, school-based team building, first responders, and survivors of trafficking. She has facilitated workshops and retreats nationwide and has shared her insights at Eagala and Natural Lifemanship conferences, as well as trauma-informed education events.

A nationally certified school counselor and equine specialist, Ann is known for her sincere presence, curiosity, and ability to foster authentic connection. Her mentoring strengths include program and workshop development, organizational consulting, and trauma-informed practice. Through her writing, teaching, and hands-on work, Ann continues to give back to the community that shaped her, helping others build confidence, clarity, and connection in their own Eagala journey.
